Director of Maintenance & Transportation
Primary Purpose:Direct and manage the district’s maintenance, custodial, transportation, and vehicle maintenance programs. Oversee the maintenance of all district-owned vehicles. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the transportation department. Maintain the physical school plant in excellent operating condition so that full educational use may be made at all times. Provide a physical environment that is functional, safe, clean, and attractive.Qualifications:
Education/Certification:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceClear and valid Texas driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills:Ability to direct and manage operations of a large fleet of vehiclesKnowledge of energy management and vehicle repair and maintenanceKnowledge of basic principles of construction, school plant maintenance, and custodial operationsAbility to conduct on-site inspection of district facilitiesAbility to manage budget and personnelAbility to coordinate district functionAbility to implement policy and proceduresAbility to read blueprints and schematicsStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:3 Years supervisory experience in maintenance operations5 Years’ experience as a bus driver preferredSalary Range:
