Construction Project Intern

Construction Project Intern Position DescriptionThe Construction Project Intern will work closely with the project management team to support overall project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and compliance with quality and safety standards. This role offers exposure to various aspects of construction management, providing hands-on experience in Project Planning, Cost Management, Quality Assurance, Contract Administration, and Safety Management.
Job Responsibilities includes (but may not be limited to):
Assist in creating, maintaining, and managing project documentation (e.g., subcontracts, RFIs, submittals).Support the development and updates of master project schedules, including reviewing look-ahead schedules with superintendents.Coordinate and provide assistance to field supervisors, ensuring smooth execution of on-site activities.Assist with permit applications and ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.Review and verify submittals for accuracy, adherence to project specifications, coordination across trades, and constructability.Proactively identify potential issues by managing and anticipating project needs two weeks ahead, facilitating solutions to avoid delays.Ensure compliance with all contract terms, legal requirements, and community regulations where the project is located.Administer client-specific programs such as Landlord/Site Rules, Safety, and Security protocols.Assist in managing changes to project scope, ensuring document control processes prevent rework due to outdated information.Oversee punch list items and project closeout to ensure timely and efficient completion.Coordinate schedules and efforts with internal work groups, vendors, and client departments (e.g., IT, security).Additional responsibilities as needed to support overall project and company objectives.Desired Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.Foundational understanding of construction methods and techniques, particularly in commercial and institutional building projects, including associated site work.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, and other relevant software for project documentation. Familiarity with Primavera P6, Timberline, Prolog, Procore, or similar tools is advantageous.Benefits and Perks
The Construction Project Intern will earn between $20 and $25 per hour, depending on experience and educational level.
