Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a skilled

Project Transportation Planner / Project Manager

to join our dynamic Transportation Planning team in California. As a Senior Transportation Planner / Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing transportation projects from conception to completion, ensuring efficient planning, execution, and delivery within established timelines and budgets. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive innovative solutions that enhance mobility, sustainability, and safety in urban environments.

Role Accountabilities:

Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, timelines, and resource allocation.

Cultivate strong relationships with clients, government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals.

Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure clarity of objectives and adherence to project requirements.

Manage project budgets, resources, and expenditures, ensuring efficient utilization and adherence to financial constraints.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.

Implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain high standards of project deliverables, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Prepare regular progress reports, status updates, and other project documentation for internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in transportation planning, incorporating innovative solutions to optimize project outcomes and deliver added value to clients.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and permits governing transportation projects, facilitating necessary approvals and permits as required.

Research and identify grant funding opportunities with clients, lead and manage grant writing tasks, and perform cost-benefit analyses.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience (8 years) in leading planning project tasks and project management, preferably in transportation planning or related infrastructure projects.

Key Skills and Abilities:

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus among multidisciplinary teams.

Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple projects concurrently.

Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar).

Sound knowledge of transportation planning principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, AICP, PE) are desirable but not required.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $94,000 - $118,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
