Specific Job Summary
(describe the nature and purpose of the position)
Reporting to the AVP Procurement Strategy, this position will lead the development and operationalization of procurement governance as it relates to end-to-end integration of the Procurement function into MVW’s organization. A successful leader in this role will possess excellent relationship-building skills, ability to influence, and be able to facilitate and drive results in a fast paced and demanding environment.
The Director, Procurement Governance is responsible for designing, managing, communicating, and reporting on procurement policies, processes and controls that are essential for effective procurement governance. This includes ongoing development and enhancement of a procurement governance framework and procedures to achieve best-in-class risk management, compliance, and documentation.
This leader will monitor compliance with procurement policies and processes throughout the supplier lifecycle – ranging from supplier qualification, RFP and supplier selection to onboarding, setup, and supplier relationship management. They will collaborate with stakeholders to create awareness and promote adoption of proper procurement procedures, as well as create a governance structure to ensure SOPs and documentation for procurement processes are complete, up-to-date, and maintained.
You will plan and perform assessments to monitor and measure adherence with various procurement procedures including RFP process and documentation, ESG requirements, use of contracts and approvals. You will also report to procurement leadership on the results of these assessments, as well as relevant procurement metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends, together with proposed controls and/or suggestions for improvements.
Specific Expected Contributions
(including duties and responsibilities)
Provides thought leadership and subject matter expertise in all aspects related to procurement governance.
Works closely with Procurement leadership to understand department priorities and execute accordingly.
Partners closely with cross-functional teams and business leaders to develop and implement procurement governance strategies.
Defines and implements process improvements to increase Business stakeholder satisfaction, reduce cycle time of engagement and deliver efficiency gains while ensuring compliance with policies and mitigating supplier risk.
Drives key stakeholder alignment and successful execution of sourcing and procurement strategies.
Supports new process changes and system integration projects while developing team skills to support new solutions.
Manages process and internal controls including project intake and prioritizes multiple requests from executive and cross-functional partners for both ad-hoc and repeatable support.
Exhibits solid leadership skills and demonstrates an ability to recruit, mentor, develop and retain outstanding strategic sourcing teams.
Develops team member capabilities, particularly in category management and strategic sourcing processes.
Specific Candidate Profile
(the education, experience, skills and attributes that are important for this position)
BS/BA in Supply Chain, Economics, Finance or Business Administration; CSCP or MBA preferred
Minimum 7 years of combined sourcing/procurement/supply chain experience and/or functional experience, preferably in procurement governance, risk, compliance or audit at global companies and/or consulting firms
Demonstrates expertise in strategic sourcing at a global scale and within a fast paced, and dynamic organization.
Deep Sourcing and Procurement experience in the following areas:
People: talent and skills development
Process: across the source-to-pay and supplier relationship management cycles
Governance: internal and external procurement policies and procedures
Technology: leveraging digital S2P capabilities to increase Procurement value to the business
Experience influencing, coaching, and developing high performing strategic sourcing professionals.
Successful track record in developing collaborative, highly effective, strategic, and tactical relationships with diverse business groups across all levels.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
