The Secondaries team is hiring an associate to join its investment team. The candidate will participate and assist in all facets of the business, including but not limited to sourcing transaction opportunities, performing due diligence on potential investments, managing existing portfolios, and servicing investors. This role will interact closely with senior leaders with multi-decade experience in Private Equity across Apogem and will provide hands-on exposure to day-to-day transactions across multiple industries.Support the senior investment team in sourcing opportunities and the evaluation and execution of secondary private equity transactions.Conduct due diligence as part of the underwriting process for potential investments, including industry/sector research, operating analysis, sponsor track record analysis, ESG review, and other qualitative and quantitative analyses.Build detailed financial and operating models.Review and analyze marketing materials of potential investments.Manage investment opportunity pipeline and coordinate screening efforts.Prepare internal communications and presentations, including investment committee materials and other deliverables.Partner with team members on the execution and maintenance of key operational initiatives and marketing efforts.Support portfolio management workstreams including monitoring investment performance, managing internal database systems, and other processes used for tracking KPIs, reporting, data management, etc.Work directly with senior leadership team and other key personnel across the organization.What You’ll Bring:
We are looking for candidates who have strong technical skills, are excellent verbal and written communicators, show positive attitudes, and possess growth mindsets.Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or STEM with a competitive GPA.2-4 years of experience in secondary, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance, restructuring, valuation, or transaction advisory services, preferably with M&A experience.Strong financial modeling, accounting, and analytical skills with direct work-related experience.High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong work ethic, problem solving and organizational skills, and attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment; must be able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.High personal integrity.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Commitment to continued professional development and “on-the-job” learning.Ability and willingness to work in a team-oriented culture.Position is based in our Chicago, IL office 3 days a week.Preferred Skills:Experience with evaluating and executing various types of secondary transactions.Pay TransparencySalary range:
