Job Summary:

The Contracts Manager is responsible for the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable regulations as it relates to government contracting. This role requires a deep understanding of DOD contracting processes, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in drafting, negotiating and managing contracts within the Dept of Defense (DOD) industry.

Job Duties/Responsibilities (List not all inclusive):

Oversees the lifecycle of the company’s government contracts, from proposal to close out, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Facilitates contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and associated regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and other relevant guidelines).

Ensures contracts are administered and monitored to maintain compliance with the terms of agreements.

Identifies and mitigates contractual risks, providing strategic advice to senior management.

Prepares, reviews, and maintains all contractual documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Works closely with project managers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure contract terms are met and project goals are achieved.

Generates regular reports on contract status, performance metrics, and compliance issues for senior management.

Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to align contract processes with strategic goals.

Qualifications:

Proficient in federal contracting processes to include Dept. of Defense (DoD).

Proficient in federal budgetary processes to include funding types.

Knowledgeable in state/local funding processes.

Outstanding communication, negotiation, and rapport building skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Adept at meeting deadlines and scheduling and managing tasks effectively.

Skilled with assessing and mitigating risk and maintaining cost control.

In-depth understanding of DoD contracting regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, etc.).

Highly proficient in using MS Office Suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Proficient with contract management software.

Meets U.S. citizenship and work eligibility requirements for federal contractors.

Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree (from an accredited college or university) in Business Administration, Law, or a related field required; master's preferred.

Minimum 8 years’ proven contracts management experience.

DoD related experience preferred (may include military, civil service, or defense contracting).

Contracts certifications (i.e., Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) preferred).

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Employee may be required to stand and walk for several hours performing various job-related duties.
