The role:As Vice President of Ingredients Marketplace, you will play a crucial role in setting and executing ingredient handling strategies and warehouse development that supports our business's growth and success. This role is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for handling all ingredients and indirect goods required by the business. This position is accountable for building out a national warehousing strategy, capable of inventorying and handling thousands of unique ingredients and product SKUs. The VP will also design and implement supply chain processes, lead cost-saving initiatives, and mentor the Supply Chain team.
Responsibilities:Supply Chain Management:
Own and manage raw material inventory across all warehouse and production sites, ensuring the consistent availability of ingredients and materials to support seamless production and distribution.
Develop and implement standardized processes for scanning, tracking, storing, and handling raw materials across all locations, ensuring quality control, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
Partner with cross functional teams to ensure that warehouse operations, ingredient storage, and receiving processes align with culinary requirements and business objectives.
Ingredient Handling:
Work closely with the Culinary Operations team to identify new ingredient needs and test new suppliers for quality control.
Develop sourcing strategies to ensure business continuity, including contingency planning.
Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased products and materials meet quality standards.
Warehousing Management:
Provide strategic input on the layout and design of new facilities, optimizing space utilization, material flow, and equipment placement for maximum operational efficiency.
Lead the initiative to build the world’s most sophisticated ingredients warehouse, driving the design, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art inventory management systems and technologies.
Develop and enforce best practices for storage equipment deployment across all warehouse facilities, ensuring that infrastructure supports efficient handling, organization, and safety of all ingredients and SKUs.
Build and lead a national warehousing team, scoping software and hardware required to drive efficient handling.
Develop and enforce best-in-class inventory management methodologies that ensure accuracy, minimize waste, and align with operational goals.
Serve as the primary strategist of warehousing strategy, aligning short-term goals with long-term business objectives.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Inventory Management.
Bachelor’s degree or about to graduate in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field.
Strong analytical skills.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Robust IMS/WMS implementation and usage experience.
Experience at a high growth or high volume food supplier.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
