Sr Continuous Improvement Leader

Support the strategic plan to build a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging company improvements based on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Partner with business leaders and senior management to identify and scope out improvement opportunities. Mentor and train process owners to ensure that continuous improvement efforts are aligned to business objectives and are achieving results. Lead efforts of complex scope that will support business improvement and impact organizational targets for cost and quality. Incumbents will work on a range of operational projects to improve the overall customer and employee experience at WTB.
Essential Functions:
Effectively partners with department leaders in identifying, planning and implementing Continuous Improvement (CI).
Leads the design, planning and implementation of lean activities throughout WTB.
Leads and deploys appropriate continuous improvement tools & methods (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, root cause analysis, visual management, 5S, mistake proofing, 3P, Standard Work, Set Up Reduction, Line Balancing, Benchmarking, variation measurement and reduction, Takt-Flow-Pull, etc.) to meet business objectives.
Leads and teaches Kaizen.
Develops, leads & delivers CI training to WTB employees, especially to process supervision and management.
Provides status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key process focused objectives.
Develops statistical information and reporting to support the continuous improvement process, providing significant analysis and recommendations based on data.
Leverages continuous improvement expertise to drive major and minor change while providing project management oversight to specific projects.
Facilitates and coaches change initiatives.
Develops and establishes performance management and measurement tools in concert with department Director.
Provides developmental guidance and coaching to frontline leaders.
Regular, reliable attendance is required.
Performs compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.
Other Functions:
Interacts with high-level executives and managers and lead large group discussions dealing with major initiatives and projects.
Oversees and/or assist with special projects or duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school and/or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six Sigma, Lean or other related Certification preferred or the ability to work towards certification.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with and work effectively with diverse groups of people, managing conflict and negotiating for results when needed.
Leadership or Management experience desired with the ability to influence without direct management responsibility.
Experience working in the financial services industry with an understanding of banking and financial services and operations.
Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative; ability to work well both independently and with others.
Strong detail orientation with high level of organizational skills and ability to multi-task, managing interruptions with multiple projects.
Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of service to clients in a deadline driven environment under the direction of management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical people.
Ability to work additional hours as required by operational and production work loads.
Ability to bring groups with disparate interests and goals to an effective and productive resolution.
Proven record of using data and analysis to drive improvement.
Proven writing skills and ability to document business unit requirements, processes, procedures and assessments.
High degree of PC based technical skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products.
Continuous Improvement Leader
Responsible for Bank-wide CI projects typically of moderate to large complexity. May co-manage projects with business unit leads/project managers. Develops expertise and knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean and CI techniques, methods, tools and practices.
Sr. Continuous Improvement Leader
In addition to the duties listed above, responsible for significant, Bank-wide CI projects, typically with large budgets and sizable staff. Viewed as an expert, highly sought after resource. Communicates to senior management on strategy, business case, and status for major CI projects. Identifies, develops and initiates innovations and solutions where technologies, procedures and/or current work processes may not exist. Provides input and works in concert with the department Director in the development and monitoring of the major projects. Has expertise and knowledge of CI, Lean, and Six Sigma techniques, methods, tools and practices. Minimum five years’ experience leading and implementing continuous improvement methods and strategies including variation reduction, waste elimination and kaizen.
Compensation:
Continuous Improvement Leader: $71,929 - $107,894Sr. Continuous Improvement Leader: $94,420 - $141,630
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
