learning opportunities. These programs focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. The Expanded Learning Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the Expanded Learning Manager in developing, implementing, and overseeing the Expanded Learning Program for all participating students at 1-2 KIPP SoCal campuses and manages the team members involved. Program Design
Support Expanded Learning Manager in executing an expanded learning program vision, mission and goals for that supports the broader goals of KIPP SoCal Public SchoolsSupport with designing enrichment opportunities for students that fit their interest and passions and can be lead by the part-time teamDevelop and manage schedule of academic, recreation, and enrichment activitiesProgram Management Assistance
Supervise and ensure the safety of students at all times.Organize and support after school program events and field tripsAssist in managing day-to-day operations of the school enrichment programManage process for mealsSupply ordering and gatheringLead the Expanded Learning Program when Manager is off-site or outPeople Management
Communicate effectively with school administration, teachers, parents, and other stakeholdersAssist with recruitment of part-time team membersSupport with observations of part-time program staff to implement quality standards-aligned programmingCompliance & Reporting
Maintain accurate records by completing regular audits (i.e., registration forms, attendance sheets, operational schedules, etc.)Adhere to workplace safety guidelines, make recommendations for workplace safetyFollow school and KIPP SoCal procedures and policies for safe operation of Expanded Learning ProgramSupport with annual program evaluations, including surveys of students, team members and parentsSubmit all required documentation on a timely basisQualifications & Desired Characteristics
Bachelor’s degree preferred2 or more years working with school-aged youthAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to work independently and work under strict deadlinesAbility to work with varied populations, such as administrators, teachers, parents, and studentsExcellent computer skills, experience working with Google platform a plusAdaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, changes approach or method to best fit the situation, able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.Planning/Organization - Priorities and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, develops realistic action plansQuality Management - Looks for ways to improve and promote quality, demonstrates accuracy and thoughtfulnessInitiative - takes initiative in appropriate situations and goes above and beyond expectations when necessary.Relationships - develops relationships based upon trust, respect, and commitment to KIPP SoCal’s missionAttention to KIPP SoCal Policies - Approaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure, treats others with respect and consideration, accepts responsibility for own actions, follows through on commitmentsCompensation and Perks
