The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $159,100 - $375,000. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is recruiting for a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic team at a Level 1 Trauma Center.The selected candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including call coverage responsibilities, teaching, and education at our various UC San Diego Health locations. Participation in active research activities and initiatives may be at the discretion of the selected candidates related to orthopaedic trauma.The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
(required at time of application): Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, or an MD/PhD in health-related fields, completed a U.S.-accredited residency training program in Orthopaedic Surgery, have or be eligible for a California medical license, and be American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certified or eligible.Additional Qualifications
(required at time of start): Candidates must have completed fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma by the time of the start of the appointment.Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate high-quality orthopaedic trauma care in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Candidates with demonstrated evidence of scholarly contributions in clinical, translational, and/or basic research are also preferred.Application Requirements
