Active economic development projects include large industrial, agriculture, historical redevelopment, national retail, cyber technology and dynamic mixed-use developments. The City of Suffolk is looking for a talented, proven professional to take our City to the next level and serve as a key member of the City Manager’s Executive Leadership Team with responsibility for planning, directing, managing, and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Department. As the Director of Economic Development, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure the continued responsible growth of the City. As a member of this dynamic team – YOUR input, leadership, knowledge, efforts and contributions will support the City’s unparalleled growth and fiscal strength through:Leading and coordinating economic and industrial development programs within the City; including oversight of the Economic Development Authority, Suffolk Executive Airport and Division of Tourism.Encouraging the expansion of existing industries and the establishment of new industries in the City.Marketing and promoting attributes of the area, preparing reports and presentations concerning economic development activities, and maintaining a database of City resources.Collaborating with the City Manager, City Council, Economic Development Authority, on strategy and policy to ensure that the City’s mission and core values are incorporated into operational activities and services.
