Engage in transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions related to investment companies.Collaborate with shareholders to support business development efforts and engage in client-facing activities.Manage multiple legal cases and transactions concurrently in a dynamic work environment.Requirements:1-4 years of relevant experience in corporate or securities law at a law firm.Experience working with registered investment companies and investment advisers.Familiarity with federal securities laws, including the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933.Ideally, experience in mergers and acquisitions, particularly related to investment companies.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Strong academic performance in law school.Certifications:Admission to the Illinois Bar or steps to become admitted.Skills:Strong ability to manage multiple legal projects and meet tight deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client service.In-depth knowledge of investment company regulations and federal securities laws.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.High attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.Job Location:Chicago, ILThis role provides a fantastic opportunity for growth within a dynamic and collaborative legal team.
