Title: Director of Operations

Location: Jacksonville, Florida

Salary: $115,000 - $140,000

Job Summary

The Director of Operations will report to the Chief Operating Officer and play a pivotal role in leading and managing all aspects of the manufacturing process within an organization. Responsible for overseeing production activities, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring quality standards are met, the Director of Manufacturing Operations works closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational excellence.

Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management, to meet production targets and customer demand.

Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures to ensure products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization, implementing best practices and efficiency gains to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage inventory levels, sourcing strategies, and supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery of materials and components to support production requirements.

Oversee maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and facilities, implementing preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.

Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices, promoting a culture of safety and accountability among manufacturing personnel.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor manufacturing performance, track production efficiency, and identify areas for improvement.

Provide leadership and direction to manufacturing teams, including supervisors, technicians, and operators, fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

10+ years’ experience in a related manufacturer and supplier of bioscience, biomedical, agricultural, or farming product related laboratory/manufacturing environment desired.

Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, preferably in a relevant industry.

Strong operational and strategic planning skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Proficiency in data analysis and technology utilization.
