Benesch is seeking to hire an experienced Project Manager to join our Railroad Structural-Bridge group. As a Railroad Structural Project Manager, you will contribute to strategic initiatives that drive the growth of the Railroad group by providing direct supervision, mentorship, and overall leadership. The ideal candidate will be a seller/doer managing all parts of phase 1 and phase 2 design projects, resource planning, assisting in business development, client engagement, and proposal preparation. We are looking for a project manager who is experienced in the local office market and is looking to join a team with a deep local bench of technical design staff and bolster a national practice of talented rail professionals.Benesch's Railroad Division is made up of highly skilled rail professionals, many of whom are former employees of operating railroads. This firsthand experience working to design and maintain active rail systems uniquely equips our team to develop innovative solutions to a wide variety of rail projects.Location

This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Chicago, IL office.The Impact You Will Have

Developing project scope, schedule, and budget estimatesIdentifying resources needed and effectively delegating staff duties and responsibilitiesDemonstrating the ability to utilize accounting and scheduling software for project managementCreating and executing project work plansAnalyzing accounting reports and project schedules for variancesMonitoring work for adherence to project scope and identifying out of scope actionsPreparing and submitting project reports to your assigned Group and/or Division ManagerParticipate in contract negotiationsEstablish client contact and maintain positive relationshipsServe as the primary interface between railroad clients and staff for a given projectCoordinate, monitor, and review work performed by sub-consultantsPromote the team environment and communication and identify and address team conflictsNetworking, including active participation in and leadership of professional organizationsWhat We Are Looking For

BS in Civil Engineering requiredPE License requiredMinimum of 10 years of railway structural engineering experienceProject Management experience requiredClient interaction experience is a plusWorking knowledge of AREMA Manual, Microstation, RISA 3D, or similar programs.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface effectively with internal staff, clients, contractors, agencies, and the publicPractice good time management skills, demonstrating the ability to work efficiently within time constraints while dealing with numerous concurrent activities.Willingness to travel to project/work sites as necessaryPosition Pay Range

$110,000 - $160,000Our comprehensive benefits package includes paid overtime, exceptional retirement fund contributions, flexible schedules, wellness incentives, and all-around great people to work with. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location.
