Oct 30 2024Reporting to the Senior Director Market Access Strategy, Pipeline & Policy, the Director, Market Access Pricing & Access Strategy, Pipeline & Business Development provides expertise and analytics to develop clear and cohesive US pricing and access strategies that maximize access and optimize value of pipeline, business development and brand launch opportunities. The role will partner with and influence US and global colleagues to ensure that relevant US pricing requirements are identified, and US payer perspectives are included in global clinical and commercial strategies for pipeline products to deliver aligned pricing strategies and enable timely US reimbursement for new products and indications with an optimized price upon launch. The role will also provide US list and net pricing recommendations for Business Development asset evaluations.This role will team with the Pipeline Access Optimization Leads and engage with multiple groups including global strategic insights, Product Portfolio Strategy Group, finance, SITO, CLT and market access leaders to influence the inclusion of US market assess pricing assumptions in global plans and forecasts for pipeline and business develop opportunities and support inputs into global leadership decisions boards such as Forecast Review Committee (FRC).Responsibilities:Leads the strategic development of US pricing deliverables including list and net pricing recommendations and revenue impacts for pipeline and business development brands and assessments of legislative changes that may impact brand pricing.Engages with senior leaders on critical business development opportunities by providing assessment of pricing and access strategies, coverage assumptions and GTN forecasts for business development opportunities.Leads discussions and influences US and global stakeholders including US & Global Market Access, R&D, Finance, Forecasting, Medical and VEO on price and market access dynamics and strategies to embed US pricing implications in global decision making.Partners with Global and US Market Access Pipeline Strategy to provide input and expertise into US Market access pricing and reimbursement assumptions for pipeline products and target product profiles for pipeline and business development assets.Leads the delivery of therapeutic area specific analytical insights to inform US pricing strategies by identifying and applying the correct research techniques and providing superior analyses and reasoned solutions based on the integration of a variety of data sources.Develops and synthesizes pricing research and analytics to advance internal understanding of how changes in GSK markets and the broader healthcare ecosystem affect patient access for pipeline products, including evolving delivery/payment models, utilization management techniques, and pricing/contracting requirements.Understands, monitors, and evaluates the effect of healthcare marketplace trends, policy changes and evolving delivery systems, and analyzes alternative engagement models and provides assessments of impact of these changes on strategic pricing of our products including evaluating the impact that legislation (e.g., the Inflation Reduction Act) has on future product pricing and access to inform early development decision making.Partners with Global pricing colleagues to monitor ongoing changes in pricing policies globally and locally and to analyze alternative engagement models, adjusting pricing strategies and policies to account for these changes.Basic Qualifications:BS/BA,7+ years relevant pharmaceutical experience (e.g., Market Access, Pricing, Contract Analytics or Finance)3+ years successful pricing or payer strategy and developmentRole Located in Durham or PhiladelphiaTravel Required: 10-15%Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree is preferred.Broad and Deep knowledge of the US healthcare system, payer dynamics and reimbursement environment across all market access customers and channels including US environmental and policy issues/ trends that may influence access or performance.Understanding of pharmaceutical pricing and finance and forecasting principles including understanding of price modeling, data sources used in modeling, GTN projections process and implication on brand P&L.Good understanding of provider reimbursement dynamics (e.g., Average Sales Price, Net Cost Recovery, etc.).Exposure to government pricing calculations and their impact on the larger enterprise and pricing strategies is preferred.Ability to combine data analysis with qualitative insights to identify and explain market access, brand, and above-brand drivers of business performance.Experience in complex matrixed organizations across US and global with a focus on data analysis and management of complex projects.High personal accountability and integrity combined with the ability and experience to influence at a strategic level across a complex, global organization and gain the support and commitment of internal and external stakeholders.Experience managing third-party vendors and conducting market research.
