Milady, a Cengage Group business, has been shaping and influencing the beauty industry for nearly a century. Reporting to the EVP & GM of Cengage Select, the SVP & General Manager of Milady will drive the overall business strategy, product innovation, go-to-market execution, and team leadership. The role is essential for Milady's success within the broader Cengage strategy.
What you'll do here:
Develop and implement business strategies to achieve annual and 5-year plans, using industry insights and market dynamics.
Lead a team of approximately 60 professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
Innovate and lead product strategies that meet growth targets and maintain market leadership.
Partner with other Cengage leaders to identify and capitalize on revenue and cost synergy opportunities as appropriate.
Promote and champion the Cengage Group culture in line with our Credo and Ethos.
Skills you will need here:
General Management Expertise
20+ years’ experience in general management with a demonstrable track record of driving innovation, retaining customer loyalty and driving profitability in a high market share business.
12+ years' leadership experience, preferably overseeing mid to large sized business teams.
Experience within beauty industry strongly preferred.
Ability to interpret complex data, anticipate challenges, and proactively develop innovative solutions while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing environments.
Experience leading a $50M+ revenue/high margin organization.
Demonstrated strength in leading go-to-market (GTM) efforts, with specific expertise in licensed occupations.
Extensive knowledge of the beauty education landscape, including trends, competitors, and regulatory requirements.
Financial Acumen
Experience in driving revenue and margin growth and managing cost structures to maintain profitability.
Comprehensive experience with P&L management to effectively lead all aspects of the financial health of the business.
Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Talent Strategy
Expertise in developing and implementing talent strategies that align with organizational culture, goals, and foster a high-performance team.
Ability to build an organizational plan focused on developing employees against their career aspirations and full potential.
Foresight to create robust succession plans and pipeline of future leaders.
Communication
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Consistent track record as a good standout colleague with an understanding of how to deliver both personal and team goals.
Energetic, passionate, and credible communicator who can convey information to a wide variety of internal and external audiences.

Compensation
The full base pay range for this position is $272,500.00 - $436,000.00 USD. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
