Your new roleWorking in a highly collaborative and dynamic team environment, you will ensure excellence in delivery that informs billions in research investment, as well as delights our customers and fuels our word-of-mouth growth and our very high renewal rates – a clear indication of how we serve our customers with the best service possible. Typical projects involve responsive, data science-driven tool and application development, and software configuration planning.You will manage technical aspects of customer implementation, ensuring contract requirements are met, keeping the technical project team aligned on scope and timelines, communicating complex customer use-cases, and pivoting as the project direction evolves ensuring customer expectations are met. You’ll grow to become an expert in our data and software, and through working in collaboration with the delivery team will identify ways in which to match our capabilities to customer needs.
What you’ll be doing
Responsible for planning and overseeing technical projects across functions and product divisions to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion, within scope and within budget.Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation.Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes. Report and escalate to management as needed.Develop and maintain thorough and streamlined project documentation that encapsulates the decision-making process and clearly communicates expectations to the technical team.Help clients to reach their goals through implementation, configuration, and support for all of the Dimensions tools and services to which they subscribe.Support our customers with the responsible use of data and information to make important decisions (e.g. what to fund).Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.Perform risk management to minimize project risks.When needed, execute tasks on behalf of other team members.Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure high-quality delivery of projects on time and within budget.You will be helping leaders of science funding organizations use tools and analyze data to make key decisions about scientific research funding, portfolio management, and evaluation.
What you’ll bring to the role
You will bring with you an understanding of the Science & Technology ecosystem (funders, research organizations, scientific publishing, etc) including an understanding of scientific research funding and interest in bibliometrics, scientometrics, research assessment, and science policy.You will be comfortable working independently and remotely, and in a fast-paced highly collaborative team environment.You will have experience in managing technical teams delivering on complex projects that evolve over time.You will have flexibility to work across several time zones, previous experience of working globally, and across multiple teams.5+ years project management experience in an IT/software related field delivering configured COTS products.Flexibility to adjust project scope in response to changing customer priorities and ability to tolerate ambiguity in requirements.Proven success working with all levels of management.Superior written and verbal communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.Strong attention to scope, deadlines and budgetary guidelines.Comfortable managing multiple tasks and outstanding in creating priorities.Distinct problem-solving aptitude.Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.Strong team player with outstanding interpersonal skills.Unflappable manner when working to tight deadlines.You will be a strong communicator and listener, and be able to follow complex discussions and instructions.You’ll be knowledgeable about research data (publications, grants, patents) including common matters such as author and institutional disambiguation, classification, linkages.
