here .About the opportunity:

The Clinical Quality Specialist supports Vail Health’s Quality department, leaders, staff, and providers in improving health outcomes for the patients served and advancing overall health care quality throughout the Vail Health system. The Clinical Quality Specialist utilizes the eight domains included in the National Association of Healthcare Quality’s (NAHQ’s) competency framework to guide these efforts and achieve the quality goals of the organization. These domains include professional engagement, quality integration, performance and process improvement, population health and care transitions, health data analytics, patient safety, regulatory and accreditation, and quality review and accountability.What you will do:

Job Functions for this role are from NAHQ’s Healthcare Quality Competency Framework (2022)Advances the organization’s commitment to healthcare quality through collaboration, learning opportunities, and effective communication.Uses performance and process improvement, project management, and change management methods to support foundational and clinical quality initiatives, improve performance, and achieve organizational goals.Evaluates and improves healthcare processes and care transitions to advance efficient, effective, and safe care of defined populations.Leverages the organization’s analytic environment to help guide data-driven decision making and inform quality improvement initiatives.Cultivates a safe healthcare environment by promoting safe practices, nurturing a just culture, and improving processes that detect, mitigate, or prevent harm.Directs organization-wide processes for evaluating, monitoring, and improving compliance with internal and external requirements. Leads the organization’s processes to prepare for, participate in, and follow up on regulatory, accreditation, and certification surveys and activities.Directs activities that support compliance with voluntary, mandatory, and contractual reporting requirements for data acquisition, analysis, reporting, and improvement.Engages in the healthcare quality profession with a commitment to practicing ethically, enhancing one’s competence, and advancing the field.Provides clinical expertise to teams throughout the organization and within the Quality Department.Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.Performs other duties as assigned. What you will need:

Experience:

3-5 years’ experience in one of the following preferred:

Healthcare quality improvement, abstraction, or reporting.Clinical care with evidence of quality improvement participation.Quality planning, control, or improvement in a non-healthcare setting.

License(s):

If in a profession that requires licensure, current licensure/certification/registration is required for state worked.Certification(s):

Preferred certification in one of the following:Healthcare Quality (CPHQ, CJCP, etc.)Lean Six SigmaProject Management

Computer / Typing:

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Education:

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.Hourly Pay:
