Senior Project Manager - Electrical Construction

Summary:
The Senior Project Manager oversees acceptance testing and maintenance projects from bidding to completion. Responsibilities include task delegation, timeline creation, cost management, risk mitigation, and client relationship management. The PM collaborates with all other departments, including purchasing, accounting, engineering, and safety as well as field supervision, general contractors, construction managers and inspectors.
What you’ll do:
Project & Account Management:
Manage schedules, milestones, and financial tracking.
Nurture customer relations and manage expectations.
Manage change orders and their impact on the project progression.
Oversee change orders and coordinate material procurement.
Handle billing processes.
Estimating:
Analyze project specs and plans.
Determine materials take-off and review bids.
Submit project estimates.
Business Development:
Maintain customer relationships.
Manage large accounts and achieve $1M in new business annually.
Site Management:
Conduct jobsite visits and meetings.
Build trust with field staff and collaborate with site superintendents.
Leadership:
Mentor assistant project managers and project managers.
Assume responsibility for all projects outcomes and financials.
Collaborate with office personnel and manage expectations.
What you’ll need for success:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, preferably in electrical construction.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of HV, MV, and LV systems; general construction safety knowledge; OSHA 10 certification.
PMP and Professional Engineer certifications are a plus.
Experience at a NETA Accredited company is a plus.
Willingness to travel to job sites 10% of the time.
