OverviewKemin Nutrisurance is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Manager! In this role, you would be responsible for helping to prepare national and international product registrations, monitoring and influencing regulatory changes, and ensuring regulatory compliance of product formulations, labels and literature. This position requires the ability to provide a regulatory analysis on components (raw materials, processing aids, dietary, food and feed ingredients) and contaminants for projects in PIP (Product Innovation Process).
Responsibilities
Provide overall guidance, daily management and direction for the RA department.
Assume regulatory compliance for Kemin products and develop regulatory strategies to achieve product registrations on a timely basis in a worldwide capacity.
Serve as a Kemin liaison to major regulatory agencies and involved in government agency inspections, including, but not limited to FDA, CFIA, USDA, OSHA, DOT, FAA, etc. as needed.
Coordinate and conduct training for new employees in the RA area, or for company employees on new regulatory topics (new regulations, legislation).
Follows and maintains an environment of food and/or feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable.
Work with other departments such as, but not limited to Scientist, Sales, Quality Control Staff, Executives, and Customers.
Write, maintain and administer RA Disaster Recovery Plan, as required.
Responsibility for initial review of product formulas and product claims for Kemin.
Assist with the preparation of the department monthly report.
Review and sign-off for some Marketing/Sales literature for Kemin products.
Assist in management of product recalls for Kemin products.
Attend industry trade shows; stay current on trends as they affect regulations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific related field.
7+ years of relative experience within regulatory.
Level will commensurate with experience.
Must be customer service-oriented and work well with varied personalities inside and outside of the corporation.
Ability to read, write, handle basic math problems.
Ability to manage projects.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
Analytical abilities.
Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
