What is the Opportunity?
Aids in the maintenance of effective regulatory relations with the Federal Reserve and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and compliance program for RBC’s prudential regulator ongoing supervision, continuous monitoring, and exams (collectively, Regulatory Engagements).
What will you do?
Facilitates examinations and routine meetings conducted by RBC’s prudential regulators (primarily the Fed and OCC) for matters related to RBC’s U.S. businesses
Coordinates and/or conducts due diligence and determines materiality of regulatory issues raised in connection with regulatory requests and examinations
Works closely with relevant subject matter experts and stakeholders across CUSO to draft and prepare responses to regulatory requests and examinations
Maintains thorough knowledge of banking regulations, bank operations and procedures, risk management controls, and other internal control objectives and practices, relevant to RBC’s prudential regulators
Facilitates and summarizes examiners’ findings and perspectives and provides notification and escalation as appropriate
Contribute to and manage technical enhancements and expansion of the department’s Regulatory Engagement recordkeeping system, as applicable
Summarizes and prepares reporting that communicates exam activity and issues for Executives
Prepares internal reports for RBC Management and Boards of Directors, and promotes information sharing of existing and new material regulatory issues
Complete special projects, as assigned

Bachelor’s degree
Significant regulatory and reputational impact
Interpretation and scoping of regulatory requests and responses
Determines if regulatory matter as applied to RBC policies and procedures presents risk to RBC or an individual
Determines if matter warrants risk escalation and to whom
Evaluates RBC policies and procedures through review of cases and may recommend policy and procedure enhancement
Independent review and challenge of managements’ responses to regulatory matters

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 - $190,000 (New Jersey/New York) depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
