Job Summary:
This role is exclusive to core Information Technology departments supporting centralized Enterprise systems. The Principal Enterprise Systems Administrator provides leadership in the research, architecture, design, build, and maintenance of enterprise mission-critical computing environments. This includes expert-level engineering for infrastructure components, such as server systems, networking, and automation.
You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, availability, security, and disaster recovery across a large-scale infrastructure, consisting of 5,000 virtual servers. This role has a balance of 60% operational tasks and 40% architectural responsibilities, requiring deep expertise in Linux Administration, F5 load balancing, and OpenShift, along with proficiency in automation using Ansible or Terraform, Python, or PowerShell.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
Architect, design, install, and configure server operating systems and associated infrastructure, with a focus on Linux and virtualized environments.
Administer F5 load balancers to ensure optimal traffic distribution, security, and high availability.
Oversee OpenShift container orchestration, ensuring seamless deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
Ensure systems adhere to enterprise security standards, including monitoring, logging, and responding to security vulnerabilities and incidents.
Automation & Efficiency:
Develop automation scripts and workflows using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and PowerShell to streamline system provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting tasks.
Build and maintain automation solutions to monitor the overall health and performance of infrastructure, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of issues.
Disaster Recovery & Security:
Design and implement disaster recovery strategies, ensuring enterprise-level business continuity and minimal downtime.
Research, develop, and enforce security policies and governance, ensuring infrastructure meets availability, integrity, and disaster recovery requirements.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure system security and optimal performance.
Architectural Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business units to analyze and validate technical and business requirements.
Provide strategic leadership in the design and optimization of infrastructure solutions, ensuring scalability and alignment with enterprise goals.
Engage with vendors to recommend and implement advanced hardware and software solutions, driving continuous improvement.
Technical Capabilities:
Linux Administration (Expert): Deep expertise in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-level Linux environments.
F5 Load Balancing (Expert): Proficiency in configuring and managing F5 load balancers to ensure high availability and security.
OpenShift & Container Orchestration (Expert): Strong experience in deploying and managing OpenShift or equivalent container orchestration platforms.
Automation (Expert): Proven experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, and PowerShell to streamline operations.
Security & Disaster Recovery (Expert): Expertise in architecting secure infrastructure solutions and developing robust disaster recovery plans.
Server Performance & Tuning (Expert): Skilled in performance tuning, monitoring, and optimizing server infrastructure for maximum performance.

Organizational Impact: Directly influences the success of IT projects and ensures critical enterprise systems are stable and secure.
Problem Solving: Conducts extensive analysis of complex technical challenges, involving cross-functional teams as necessary.
