POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of club operations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, and driving the growth and success of our facility.This position reports directly to the General Manager.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND OUTCOMES:To assist in leading club operations, club associates and the execution of location’s business plan.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations including staff supervision, facility maintenance, and retail sales as well as assist in Membership sales.

Customer Service: Create a welcoming and customer-focused environment for members and guests. Address inquiries, resolve concerns, and ensure exceptional member experiences.

Financial Management: Assist with Purchasing, Inventories, and Scheduling of front-line personnel.

Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including front-line personnel, to ensure a high level of service and professionalism.

Facility Maintenance: Ensure the club's facilities and equipment are well-maintained and in excellent condition.

Community Engagement: Foster relationships within the pickleball community, local businesses, and organizations to promote the club and the sport.

Manage direct reports in accordance with company policies in an equal manner that ensures confidentiality.

Be the main point of contact in the absence of the General Manager and/or Program Director.

Lead and mentor staff to improve skillset and career potential.

Advise on employee promotions, transfers, and dismissals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Sports Management, PTM; proven industry knowledge acceptable in lieu of degree

Minimum 1 to 2 years’ of Management experience

Financial and statistical reporting knowledge and experience

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite and industry related software programs

Court Reserve knowledge and experience a plus

High level of energy and enthusiasm.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of pickleball or willingness to learn about the sport.

Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Onsite at our PickleRage facility in Glen Burnie, MD. Involves performing in a professional, sports-centric environment that includes court play, retain and member services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to perform light maintenance work which may require climbing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the head and reaching forward. Occasionally climbs ladders. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
