CRJ students consistently surpass their peers in postsecondary success.About the Role:The Principal serves as the Chief Academic Officer of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, providing mission-driven leadership for faculty and students while promoting the Catholic, Jesuit mission. This role ensures the use of evidence-based instructional strategies to improve student achievement and leverages student data to inform teaching practices. The Principal oversees key student services such as food, health, safety, and technology, supervises and evaluates school personnel, and manages both academic and co-curricular programs. Collaborating with the Vice President of Finance and Operations, Director of Admissions, and Director of Corporate Work Study, the Principal aligns the academic budget, admissions, and enrollment goals with the school’s mission. Additionally, the Principal engages with internal and external stakeholders, reports on academic progress, handles student discipline, and represents the school to the Archdiocese, state education bodies, and other accrediting organizations.Responsibilities:Serves as the chief academic officer of the school, providing mission leadership for faculty and students.Articulates and inspires the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the school to primary audiences of students, parents/guardians, and faculty and staff.Leads teachers towards consistent use of evidence-based instructional strategies to increase student achievement.Leads teachers and staff in interpreting and using student achievement data to inform instruction.Oversees student services, specifically the food services, health, safety, and technology.Reports at regular intervals the student academic progress to all constituents such as parents, faculty, related school committees, Cristo Rey Network, and the Board of Trustees.Attends and actively participates in Executive Team meetings, Committee and Board meetings, and the monthly HSA Parent meetings.Solves problems collaboratively with other Cristo Rey Jesuit High School staff, faculty and administrators.Competently represent the public face of the school.Appoints, supervises, supports, and evaluates school personnel, including teachers, department chairs, and Instructional Coach, Dean of Students, Chief Technology Officer, Athletic Director, coaches, and club/program moderators.Identifies the needs of the academic program on an ongoing basis, as well as develops and oversees the academic budget in collaboration with the Vice President of Finance and Operations and President.Collaborates with the Director of Admissions, Director of CWSP, and the President on student admission guidelines, processes, timelines, and enrollment management goals consistent with the school’s approved operating budget.Collaborates with the Director of CWSP in scheduling, student work assignments, discipline, and overall progress of the students and the scheduling of the school calendar and program.Represent Cristo Rey Jesuit High School to the Archdiocesan Office of Education, MD State Board of Education, accrediting bodies, and principals’ meetings (i.e. archdiocesan, state, national, AIMS, and Cristo Rey Network)Leads and directs faculty on curricular areas such as curricular standards and competencies, assessment, and programming in a collaborative effort with the faculty, the Instructional Coach, and the Director of Corporate Work Study.Supervises student discipline of the school with assistance from the Dean of Students.Provides ongoing leadership and a visible presence in the school throughout the school year.Supervises all co-curricular activities and after-school programs with support from faculty and staff.Articulates and implements the mission and vision of the school.Performs other duties as assigned by the President.Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Education or Administration preferred.Required Skills:Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds of the student body.Minimum five years of teaching and/or school administrative experience.Personal commitment to the Catholic, Jesuit mission and Corporate Internship Program.Passionate about the mission of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School and a genuine interest in supporting educational opportunities for underserved students.Pay range and compensation package:403b Retirement Plan: We offer a competitive 403(b) retirement plan to help you save for the future, with employer matching contributions available.
