TE Connectivity's Supply Chain Managers are responsible for the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. They ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at the established levels. They coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain. Resources are focused on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes, and the establishment of key performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor actual performance against goals.The Global Supply Chain manager for the Rugged Fiber Optics (RFO) Group within AD&M will have worldwide responsibility for the planning, execution, and process improvement for the extended value streams of one of our fastest growing product areas.This position is ideally located in Fairview, North Carolina, however a remote option is possible, with preferred location in the United States, and the ability to frequently travel to Fairview and other RFO production locations and corporate offices as required.This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.Responsibilities include:
Responsible for driving excellence in material requirement and production planning for the RFO business globally.Integrate with RFO product and program management and engineering teams to coordinate on supply chain requirement development for new products, projects, and programs.Responsible for ensuring supply chain setup requirements are met throughout new product introduction stage gate process.Coordinate with central supply chain and sourcing teams on supplier development needs and performance for RFO.Support product management team by developing aggregated production forecasts, and risk & opportunity plans for key management presentations (monthly / quarterly reviews).Optimize the use of planning systems and tools within RFO production areas to ensure that the appropriate processes are in place and support the “Engineer-to-Order” nature of the RFO business. Tools include IBP Supply, SAP, and internal tools.Develop and implement planning strategies to optimize supply chain execution including segmentation of runners/strangers (ABC/XYZ), optimizing freight costs, scheduling and loading production capacity, production sequencing and prioritization, etc.Coordinate with operations management to resolve urgent and systemic supply issues that inhibit execution of the production plan.Drive actions to lower supply lead times, reduce inventory, and increase customer satisfaction measurements.Support the S&OP process across RFO programs and production areas - particularly the supply review process.Ensure an operations/planning/product management handshake on the load across the 13-week horizon.What your background should look like:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field.Minimum of 8 years' experience in operations and or supply chain logistics.Working knowledge of all areas of Supply Chain, including Procurements, Logistics, Customer Service and Engineering.Prior Planning and buying experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with low volume / high product mix.Experience using ERP systems, (SAP experience strongly preferred).Well organized and project management skills.Team player with good communication skills who can work across various functions, including sales, product management, material procurement and senior management.Solid influencing skills, particularly where there is no reporting relationship.Demonstrate understanding of logistics, financial and operational performance data.Experience using Microsoft applications.Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.Depending on location where homebase is, travel may be 25-50%.Competencies
