The successful candidate will drive alignment across departments on our path to engage on data-driven research projects that help deliver new AI and ML features for our products. This is a strategic role that requires a strong partnership with other functions across the company. You will be a leader for the Data Science and Data Engineering disciplines at Kandji.How you will make a difference day to day:Work closely with the Product and Engineering to create a data roadmap and ensure alignment.Consult with stakeholders to help identify opportunities to enhance products using automation, AI and machine learning.Work to create data models to answer analytics and product performance questions for stakeholders.Lead development of data pipelines that can serve both customer use cases and/or internal stakeholders.Drive alignment for Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders in various research focused projects.Mentor engineers on the team to level them up.Raise the bar within the data organization by adopting industry best practices, producing best in class code, documentation, testing, and monitoring.Minimum qualifications:6+ years of data engineering or data science experience in high-growth organizations, with 1+ year(s) of managing and developing data teams.Proficient in working with large language models (LLMs), with the ability to select and apply appropriate machine learning algorithms.Expertise in data modeling and dataset curation is essential.Advanced experience with multiple data storage systems (RDBMS, NoSQL, in-memory, etc).Experience with distributed data stores (Cassandra, Hive, Druid, Pinot, Hadoop, etc).Professional experience with Airflow and Kafka.Experience designing and implementing data warehousing (S3, Redshift, Snowflake, HBase/Cloudera, etc).Expertise in data modeling, lineage, access, and its governance.Experience creating and reviewing technical and user-focused documentation for data solutions (data models, data dictionaries, business glossaries, process and data flows, architecture diagrams, etc.).Proven experience building, growing, inspiring, and retaining a collaborative team.Strong ability to support and mentor team members to accomplish team goals.Benefits & PerksCompetitive salary100% individual and dependent medical + dental + vision coverage401(k) with a 4% company match20 days PTO14 paid holidays per year10 health and wellness days per yearKandji Wellness Week off July 1 - July 5, 2024Equity for full-time employeesUp to 16 weeks of paid leave for new parentsPaid Family and Medical LeaveModern Health - Mental Health Benefits - Individual and DependentsFertility BenefitsWorking Advantage Employee DiscountsMonthly utilities stipendFree onsite fitness centerFree parkingLunch 5 days/weekExciting opportunities for career growthAn outstanding, inclusive cultureWe are excited to be serving a significant need for a fast-growing market, and are proud of the high-performing team we have brought together so far.
