St. Paul, MN

location in the Structural Heart division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.The Supplier Development Quality Engineer II leads efforts to enhance and correct the quality of components from external suppliers. Establishes acceptance criteria for materials. Tracks supplier performance to enforce corrective actions, address manufacturing yield issues, and resolve field failures. Coordinates supplier-initiated changes with cross-functional teams.Main ResponsibilitiesWork closely with external suppliers to gain insights into their manufacturing processes and fulfill all required qualifications.Work together with manufacturing engineers to resolve production-related challenges.Generates and maintains incoming inspection procedures. Trains inspectors to these procedures.Develops and/or sources inspection tools and equipment.Assists in generating/modifying component specifications.Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports and approve components for use in products.Analyzes incoming material defects.Communicates issues to suppliers.Reviews new design specifications and provides input from component quality and manufacturability perspective.Investigates field failures related to supplier materials.Investigate and develop corrective action plans for internal and external issues as needed. Implement and drive corrective actions accordingly.May support audits (internal/external)Cultivates a wide range of internal networks and begins to develop an extensive external network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks.Oversee project team(s) with a moderate scopeProvides guidance to less experienced staff. Acts as a mentor to lower level individual contributors.Influence exerted at peer level and occasionally at first levels of management.Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule.Exercises authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action.Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources.Provides guidance to project teams and other engineers.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area.Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures.General understanding of business unit/group function.Will perform this job in a quality system environment.Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.Has a broad knowledge of technical alternatives and an understanding of their impact on the systems environment.Apply Now* Participants who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan.
