Contract Packaging Technician - 3rd Shift

The Contract Packaging Technician, under the guidance of the Production Shift Leader, is responsible for operation of Contract Packaging Assembly equipment to produce a product to quality, labor and materials expectations in a safe and efficient manner.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday | 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Essential Accountabilities
Machine operation
Set-up, operate and troubleshoot contract-packaging-assembly equipment as defined by procedures and work instructions.Sort scrap or rework to minimize product waste and ensure proper recycling.Assist in training new technicians.Manually place/load various components at assigned workstations.Visually test/inspect components and complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and traceability of product.Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.Perform scheduled operator preventative maintenance (PM's).Recommend possible process changes to help meet production standards and/or improve quality of product.Communication
Complete all shift documentation/paperwork.Shift hand-off - go over job status and updates with incoming shift.Quality
Ensure part quality meets established standards.Use Specification Process Controls (SPC) to ensure quality and traceability of product.Perform housekeeping duties.Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.Safety
Participate in safety programs.Follow all established safety procedures.Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Mechanical aptitude; skills; ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements.
Desired Skills:
At least 6 months prior experience operating production equipment.

Inside: Manufacturing environment
Equipment/Tools Used:
Computer, calculator, scales, pallet jacks, Allen wrenches, screwdriver, Big Joe lifts, utility knives, Oracle
Physical Requirements: Light work (lift 10 lbs): continuously - cases of product and hand tools
Medium Work (lift 11-30 lbs.) boxes of product - RF tooling, over-wrap, lid and base boxes 1 box/6-10 min
Heavy Work (lift 31-50 lbs.) boxes of product - Tooling for RF's, chipboard boxes 4-5/hour, bait buckets on/off all day 3-4/hour
Very Heavy Work (lift over 50 lbs.) pallets - Must be in teams of two (40/day)
Other Physical Requirements: Bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, twisting, standing/sitting for long periods
Mental Requirements Reading, writing, calculating, interpersonal skills, reasoning/analysis, works with minimal supervision
