The shift will be twelve hours, 36-48 hour guarantees.Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700Travelers will be scheduled. Will approve a limited amount of block schedulingEvery other weekend requirementHoliday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minorUnit Specific Information
Mechanical lifts in every other roomBig focus on hourly rounding and responsivenessThis unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions in one dayThey serve patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, BurmeseAdditional Details
Department: Med Tele / Ortho RN - 4th Floor North & SouthNurse: Patient Ratios: 1:5-6Common diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thriveRN's required to titrate drips such as Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamineCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumpsCharge Nurse on each shift, who may take an assignmentNurse aids/patient care techs on this unit with duties and ratiosTele/Monitor Techs on the unit, RN's should have some tele awarenessScrubs Color/Dress Code: RNs: Navy BlueUnit/department specific orientation: 2 daysFloating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed
