Manager, Development Hardware, Apple Services Engineering

We are looking for a manager to lead the team responsible for supplying internal development hardware to large-scale engineering organizations, enabling successful development and testing of ASE services. The team manages all aspects of the development hardware procurement and allocation process, ranging from gathering requirements, collecting business justifications, finalizing order numbers, negotiating with cross-functional partners, securely picking-up and storing devices, audits and distribution. In addition, this role will partner closely with engineering teams, to identify opportunities for teams to test remotely. Description Responsibilities include: Overseeing the day-to-day hardware management processes and providing direction to your team. Collaborating with ASE teams and cross-functional partners to ensure we offer and deliver the best-in-class service. Identifying opportunities for process optimization and standardization, including avenues for automation. Gathering program metrics to more accurately predict future hardware needs. Defining roadmaps and team goals, and participate in org planning meetings. Working closely with team leaders and executives to understand hardware requirements. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the org hardware demands are being met. To be successful in this role, you will be able to collaborate with others and partner on developing new solutions. You will have a keen eye for process optimization, as well as attention to detail in producing documentation and standards. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be invested in the growth and development of others. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of management experience in an engineering org. Thorough knowledge of software and hardware development life cycle principles. Experience with the management of hardware build allocation and priority calls. Experience of data visualization and analysis. Experience with hardware bring-up. Experience with automated test systems. Must be able to lift and transport inventory weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have a valid Driver’s license and vehicle to transport inventory. Preferred Qualifications Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with software engineers and a broad group of cross-functional business stakeholders. Data analysis experience with Tableau or other analytics software platforms. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Discreet when handling sensitive and confidential information. Detail oriented and comfortable multitasking in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements. Strong ability to drive action through collaboration and proactivity. Influences stakeholders at all levels to ensure the best outcome. Curious, flexible and a dedicated problem solver. Strong sense of ownership and accountability. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $146,000 and $292,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
