Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesApply engineering best practices in order to analyze, design, develop, deploy and support software solutions.Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.Evaluating existing data systems.Implementing data strategies and developing logical and physical data models.Develop software using continuous Deployment and integration practices.Participate in an Agile implementation and maintenance of source control and release procedures.Participate in Code Reviews and feedback to the team.Contribute to a collaborative work environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions.Identify data quality issues and their root causes.Propose fixes and design data audits.

QualificationsBachelor's Degree.At least 4 years of professional software engineering, debugging, analysis, and software documentation experience.Good understanding of data architecture concepts, data modeling tools(e.g., ERWIN, PowerDesigner).Expertise in writing and optimizing SQLsCode Knowledge: Python, JVM (Java, Scala),Apache Spark, SQL.Experience with Agile methodologies/DevOps environment.Basic understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.Basic understanding of Data Quality and Data Concepts.Basic understanding of Data Integration Patterns and Tooling including ELT/ETL, EII, Replication, Event Streaming, and Virtualization to support batch and real-time data needs.Has or develops understanding of 4-6 subject areas/domains of data.Proficient craftsman on Software and Quality Standards.Advanced programming skills.Ability to explain technical solutions to technical teams.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.Compensation Range:Pay Range - Start:$100,030.00

Pay Range - End:$185,770.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
