WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Systems Engineer II – Wireless Practice Lead will be responsible for designing, installing, integrating, and maintaining wireless technologies. In this role, you will:
Lead wireless network engineering projects, including design, integration, testing, installation, and support of wireless network infrastructure. Perform network design activities on HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, Juniper (local or cloud-managed systems) for large enterprise data networks. Perform wireless site surveys and analyze results for best optimal wireless deployment. Investigate, design, plan, and implement physical and logical wireless communications networks. Prepare schematics to define and illustrate wireless network design solutions. Create design documents containing instructions to be used by clients and technicians. Provide proactive monitoring of the network using configuration and troubleshooting tools like Cisco Meraki Cloud, HPE, Aruba, Juniper. Conduct capacity planning for internal and external network connections. WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Five (5) or more years of experience as a senior-level wireless network engineer. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certifications from manufacturers like Aruba, HPE, or Juniper. Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi protocols, including all IEEE 802.11 standards and supporting networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TCP/IP, UDP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPN, ACLs, LDAP). Ability to perform and analyze Wi-Fi surveys using tools such as Ekahau. Excellent communication skills. Proven ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot IT equipment in a multi-protocol district-wide wireless network with centralized and cloud-based controllers. Experience collaborating with local and field engineering teams and contracted vendors to ensure swift responses to critical issues impacting clients. Experience installing and maintaining identity solutions like Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, or Microsoft NPS. Strong understanding of wireless security using 802.1x and best practices to ensure strong wireless network security. Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS. WHAT WE OFFER:
