Animal Care Associates is a full-service animal hospital and boarding facility that has been treating pets in the Charleston, WV area since 1984. We set a standard for excellent veterinary care that is unsurpassed. In fact, we are the only veterinarians in the Charleston area accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. We offer a variety of services including wellness exams, surgery, in-house diagnostics, dentistry, digital radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, and much more.
At our practice, we treat more than just cats and dogs. We are a leading veterinary care provider in the area for birds we well as exotic and pocket pets. We see uncommon companion animals like birds, lizards, snakes, sugar gliders, and hedgehogs as well as more common pocket pets like rabbits, hamsters, and ferrets.

Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in Charleston. As the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for everyone who enters our clinic.Warmly greet clients and their pets, creating a welcoming atmosphere in the reception areaSchedule appointments efficiently to optimize daily clinic flowAnswer phone calls and emails, addressing inquiries and directing them to appropriate staff membersCheck-in patients, process payments, and manage client check-out proceduresMaintain a clean and organized reception areaOffer compassionate support to clients during emotional situationsAssist with basic administrative tasks, including filing and record-keepingCollaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth clinic operationsHandle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentEnsure client confidentiality and maintain accurate patient recordsQualifications
Minimum of 1 year of veterinary reception experience preferredExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong organizational abilities and attention to detailProficiency in computer systems and scheduling softwareAbility to multitask effectively in a busy environmentEmpathetic and calm demeanor, especially during stressful situationsBasic understanding of veterinary terminologyCustomer service-oriented with a friendly and professional attitudeFlexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as neededAbility to handle unpleasant odors and noises associated with animal careResilience in dealing with potentially difficult emotional situationsPhysical ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 poundsAdditional Information
