Essential Functions

Service Analysis:Advise members by identifying the correct mortgage product for their housing needs and financial futureReview and analyze credit and Desktop Underwriting (DU) findingsExhibit sales and financial analysis competency in the origination process, creating solutions and mortgage management plans for the memberActively seek opportunities to increase loan volumeExhibit strong consultative sales skills, analytic ability, knowledge of the mortgage bond market, and ability to perform and explain mathematical comparisons of the mortgage options available to the memberComply with RESPA, HMDA, and other laws and regulationsMaintain knowledge of current mortgage guidelinesSystem and Member Documentation:

Utilize CRM to consistently track and communicate all phases of the loan process from start to closingServe as a liaison between involved parties in the mortgage transactions such as REALTORS, title company personnel and othersAttend the closing when possibleMake post-closing follow-up calls to ensure member satisfaction and request referralsProvide timely and accurate loan information to membersDisplay a commitment to providing up-to-date and accurate information by attending a minimum of two professional seminars annually and pursuing on-going learning.Business Development:

Serve as UFCU outside sales representative by actively identifying, soliciting, developing relationships with REALTORS, builders and other referral partners to increase mortgage lending business in the communityMake calls and presentations to referral partnersCreate outside referral sources to generate 100% of monthly volume goalsDevelop and implement sales strategies designed to meet credit union and mortgage lending goals in the community.Participate in industry professional associations to stay informed and educated on the mortgage industryOther:

Perform other duties as assignedAdhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codesMaintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls specific to the MLO roleKnowledge/Skills/Abilities

Displays strong interpersonal skills through fostering teamwork and demonstrating patience and respect when dealing with difficult situationsFully competent in Microsoft Office, Encompass, and other related software programs. Demonstrates the ability to use loan origination software to efficiently perform job functions.Knowledgeable in all aspects of the Federal and State Regulations dealing with Mortgage and Home Equity lending, required. These include but are not limited to: HMDA, RESPA, Fair Housing, ECOA, TIL, and Section 50, Article XVI of the Texas Constitution.Ability to present ideas and thoughts in a clear, concise manner. Ability to make oral presentations with persuasiveness and confidence. Ability to use clear and simple language to get the message across to members and co-workers.Able to quickly build rapport and establish credibility with members and co-workers.Ability to manage multiple projects, under tight deadlines while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of loan documentation.Core Competencies

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of two (2) years of inside/outside sales experience requiredMinimum of two (2) years of mortgage loan origination experience, including experience with self-sourced loans, requiredMust be fully bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both languagesMust pass a Spanish language proficiency test as part of the hiring processMust be bondablePreferred Requirements
