JOB SUMMARY

The Property Accountant reports directly to the Property Accounting Manager and is responsible for supporting the Property Accounting function within the Operations Accounting department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate and maintain Report Centers in the accounting systemCreate and maintain AFEs in the accounting systemCoordinate DOI deck setup with LandPrepare monthly AFE status reportsResearch and resolve AFE related issuesAssist with AFE related audit questionsPrepare and record journal entries as neededAssist with ad-hoc requests and special projects as neededJob requirements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in computing skills including Microsoft Office is requiredSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and as a team playerAbility to work with large amount of detailed data with high level of accuracyEffective written and oral communication skillsStrong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skillsMust be able to meet established deadlinesPreferred working knowledge of Oracle EBS and P2 Enterprise Upstream

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in accounting; combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Years of Experience Range: 3-7 years; preferably 3+ years in the oil and gas industry

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Less than 5%, travel may be required for meetings or training

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
