WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We have an opening for a motivated, collaborative and committed individual to fill our Network Engineer Tier III / Team Lead position within our Global Network operations team. The successful candidate will be working as part of a growing managed services organization with opportunities to work independently as well as part of a team with the ability to develop their managed service skills to the fullest. The role specifically involves working as a Network Engineer Tier III and supervising a Network Engineering Team, supporting a large-scale enterprise network infrastructure for multiple customers.

The successful candidate will help develop and understand requirements from internal customers and create technical solutions to improve productivity and services. The candidate must have a strong technical background, be innovative and agile, collaborate well in a team environment, and have very strong written and verbal communication skills - a visionary who challenges the status quo and believes that technologies can level-up productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with troubleshooting a multi-vendor, multi-protocol enterprise network:

Maintain and support a large-scale enterprise network infrastructure that will include routers, switches, servers, network operating system software, network management software and other related hardware

Respond to network alerts and diagnose causes with ability to create Root Cause Analysis.

Work with telecommunication providers to resolve circuit related issues.

Work with vendors to troubleshoot Configuration, Hardware and Software issues.

Assist with various network projects across the business:

Network hardware refresh

New Network technology deployments

Wi-Fi design / troubleshooting

SDWAN deployment

Cisco DNAC (Catalyst Center) deployments

Ability to create and update existing network documentation

Mentor junior engineers’ members of the team

Participate in annual reviews of engineers on your team

Engage in escalations from junior engineers and the customer.

Work with engineering team in doing analysis on network events/outages to identify permanent resolution, prevention, as well as improvements.

Hours: typical range will be Mon-Fri 8:00am to 5:00pm with some out-of-hours work as required.

Candidates can anticipate travel up to 25%.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

5+ years of experience with Layer 2 Switching protocols

5+ years of experience with Layer 3 Routing protocols

Ability to configure and troubleshoot routing/switching

Experience with multiple networking vendors including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Juniper, and Arista.

Solid understanding of Enterprise Network Design, infrastructure, and operational best practices

Technologies including RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, VTP, ARP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, NDP, VxLAN, VRRP, EtherChannel, in an enterprise class environment.

Knowledge of application-level protocols such as SNMP, telnet, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DHCPv6, DNS. 802.1x, IPsec

Strong Wi-Fi experience with troubleshooting and design

Proficiency in Linux operating system, scripting experience a plus

Experience with IPv4 & IPv6 in a dual stack a plus

Experience with SDN and SDWAN deployments would be advantageous.

Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments with limited supervision

Ability to work outside regular working hours as needed by the client, including evenings and weekends.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

Networking Certifications such as CCNP

Experience with enterprise environments on a global scale

Strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven organizational skills

Fluent in spoken & written English preferred

Strong mentoring skills and desire to mentor junior engineers
