Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated mid-Level Conveyance Engineer to join our Civil Design Team. This is a great opportunity to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting firm. We offer a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to develop innovative, cost-effective designs for new water/wastewater related facilities, expansions, upgrades, and retrofits.In this position, you will be responsible for providing support for the planning and civil infrastructure design effort on small to large projects working directly with engineers and other design staff and collaborating with our structural, mechanical, process and electrical engineers, and designers on those designs. Our ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. You will be working with technical staff and executing the following types of work:Perform engineering work with the Civil Design Discipline team on water, wastewater and recycled water conveyance projects including new pipelines, pumping stations, and pipeline rehabilitation for municipal and private industrial clients.Work with teams on engineering designs, preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment selection for various project components.Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.Support studies, permitting, master planning, and alternative analysis.Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspections as part of engineering services during construction.Conduct field work, such as site investigations, as necessary for various projects.Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines.Perform data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation.Coordinate civil project work with geotechnical, architectural, process, mechanical, and electrical engineers and consultants.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field.Minimum of 2 year’s of relevant experience.Knowledge and understanding of pipeline hydraulics for both open channel and closed conduits.Experience using engineering calculation software.Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and verbally.Good written and verbal communication skills essential.Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam.Prior academic coursework in fluid mechanics, hydraulics, structural analysis, soil mechanics, and surveying.Valid driver’s license and good driving record.Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field.3-8 years of relevant experience.Field/construction experience.Possess or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months.Salary Range:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.$79,000 - $108,000Benefits and Other Compensation:
