Hardware Integrator
Leidos, Huntsville, Alabama, United States, 35824
DescriptionThe Software Integration and Analysis Section within the Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a talented Software to Hardware Electrical Engineer. The
Hardware Integrator
will work with a group of design engineers to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced modeling systems. The Hardware Integrator plays a critical role in developing and sustaining the software interface between radar threat system simulations—spanning multiple projects—and their associated hardware components. This position involves handling the communication of waveform messages from threat models and translating those commands for the firmware controlling waveform generation hardware. Additionally, the role requires managing the real-time processing of hardware-generated returns, which are then relayed back to the threat simulations, ensuring a seamless closed-loop interaction within a stringent hard real-time environment. As part of the hardware integration process, this role also encompasses model-to-hardware integration. As simulation models evolve, transitioning to hardware-in-the-loop operations necessitates rigorous testing and iterative refinement of both the model and hardware interface code. Success in this position demands a strong understanding of the functional requirements and behaviors of both the threat models and the firmware on the waveform-generation boards, enabling the Hardware Integrator to troubleshoot and resolve any issues encountered during the integration phase of model development.Required Experience:Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering or related STEM discipline from an ABET accredited school with 8+ years of direct applicable experience or 6+ years with relevant MS degree.Must be proficient in C++ and/or object-oriented programming.Must have a good understanding of digital signal processing.Must have experience with Hardware-in-the-loop.Must have understanding of software modeling if not prior experience.Must have experience with hardware testing and using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency analyzers, and signal generators.Candidate must be a US Citizen with at least SECRET level active clearance.Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI in the future.Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.Strongly Desired:Experience writing software for real-time operating systems.Original Posting Date:
2024-11-08While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:
