Salary:

The Director for the Planning and Zoning Department is responsible for all daily operations of the Planning and Zoning office. The Director coordinates all activities for the Planning and Zoning staff and is the program leader.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provides exceptional customer service to the public by assistance with inquiries in person, and via telephone, mail and e-mail.

Ability to operate all Microsoft Office suite software with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Ability to learn and operate an automated permitting and plan online system.

Oversee all financial, billing, purchasing, and human resources.

Provide primary administration support for the Wagoner Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and the Wagoner County Board of Adjustment. Attends all meetings for both boards, prepares staff reports and exhibits for each item on each agenda.

Ensure all office activities are in accordance with Oklahoma Statute Title 19 Section 866 and applicable local codes, ordinances, and regulations.

Correctly interpret and fully grasp all local regulations: Subdivisions Regulation, Zoning Code, and Comprehensive Plan, and governing statutes.

Oversee records management to include building permits, floodplain permits, zoning changes, subdivisions of land including review of plats, agendas, and minutes.

Oversee ledger with all earnings and expenses of the Planning and Zoning office.

Ability to understand and report monthly on account and budgeting information.

Oversee building permit program for all Wagoner County unincorporated areas.

Oversee the Right of Way Permitting.

Direct supervisor of five employees operating in the Planning and Zoning Department.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:Administrative Skills, Verbal and Written Communication, Strong Organizational and File Maintenance Skills, Ability to Multi-task and organize, remain calm under pressure. Must Demonstrate Professionalism, Exceptional Leadership, ability to discipline and correct, and work as a team. Proficiency in GIS and project management a plus.
