Essential Duties Major responsibilities:Support the coordination and expansion of School & Community Based Dental Service program(s).Travel to & from school/community locations, assisting with transportation of equipment/materials, etc.Assist with the coordination of services, ordering supplies & maintaining inventoryCollect and organize and maintain files related to: permission slips, educational pieces, brochures, etc.Review consent forms for completion and highlight any concernsAssist with enrolling student sin the Caring For Kids programGreet the students, making them feel at-ease and comfortable.Provide program/project support including: telephone and written correspondence, coordinating files, collecting forms and maintaining relationships with internal and external contactsTake and record medical and dental histories and updated personal information on permission form.Apply sealant to the surfaces of teeth per diagnosis of dentist.Provide health education to improve and maintain oral health such as brushing, flossing, and other plaque control methods.Contact parents of students who require follow-up careProvide community education and attend/participate in health fairs & outreach at events as needed with the continual promotion of CHC services available at all sites.Provide training and supervision of dental assistant students and volunteers training on siteAct as liaison between CHC staff, school or community staff & patientsWorks as part of the team with Dentists and HygienistsBuilds schedules for providers performing restorative procedures at all schools in the programTransport equipment and Prepare mobile clinics for patient care (includes cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining equipment, sterilizing, sharpening equipment, and keeping oral operating areas clear during dental procedures).Exercise care in the completion of work assignments and request direction when needed.Maintain integrity of all student accountsProvide regular communication, documentation, and supervision meetings regarding program progress to Caring for Kids Program Manager.Works as part of team and works at the Community Health Center as required.Demonstrate understanding and commitment of the health center missionDemonstrate understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and StandardsOther duties may be assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma required. Additional training that leads to a basic knowledge of dental terminology and dental service procedures preferred.Certified in CPRTwo years experience in a general office preferred.Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English.Work experience similar to a medical office environmentDemonstrated interpersonal relationship skillsDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding mobile clinic environmentValid Driver's License and ability to self-transport
