The Radiation Services Director will oversee the operational management and strategic development of radiation services. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of radiation oncology and PET services, including management of resources, staff, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Director will work closely with clinical leaders and administrative teams to drive departmental performance, optimize patient care, and implement innovative practices.
Your Everyday
Service-Line Leadership:
Provide overall operational leadership for radiation services, including day-to-day management and long-term strategic planning to encompass radiation oncology, radiopharmaceutical and PETCT services.Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care.Act as a liaison between the radiation services and other departments within the organization to facilitate coordination and collaboration.Resource Management and Revenue Cycle Expertise:
Serve as the first point of contact and a resource for team members engaged in documentation, care pathway movement and reconciliationOversee the budgeting and financial management, including cost control, resource allocation, and financial forecasting.Manage departmental staffing levels, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of administrative and clinical support staff.Ensure the proper maintenance and operational readiness of radiation equipment and technology, coordinating with technical staff and vendors as necessary.Operational Efficiency:
Monitor and analyze departmental operations to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.Develop and oversee scheduling systems for patient appointments and staff rotations to optimize workflow and maximize resource utilization.Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including safety standards and operational protocols.Quality and Compliance:
Implement and manage quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.Conduct regular audits and reviews of departmental practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including those specific to radiopharmaceuticals.Address and resolve any issues related to patient care, operational processes, or staff performance.Patient and Staff Relations:
Serve as a point of contact for patient concerns and feedback, addressing any issues related to the patient experience or service delivery.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, supporting staff development and promoting a culture of excellence.Facilitate ongoing communication between administrative staff, clinical teams, and patients to enhance service delivery and staff morale.Strategic Initiatives:
Work with physician and administrative leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for the growth and advancement of the radiation services, including the integration of new technologies and treatment modalities.Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in radiation oncology to drive innovation and improve departmental performance.Work with radiation oncologists to promote and support research and clinical trials related to radiation oncology and radiopharmaceutical therapies.Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving departmental efficiency, patient care, and overall organizational success.The Must-Haves
Minimum:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in radiation oncology, including experience with radiopharmaceuticals, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.Proven track record of successful operational management, including budgeting, resource allocation, and staff supervision.Strong understanding of radiation oncology practices, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance processes.Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals.WORK SHIFT:
