Job Description

NI-Emerson Field Application Engineers demonstrate the highest degree of technical capability and professional engineering skills while supplying to key accounts and company strategy. They complete technical demand while building trust as technical advisors for key customers. This is a unique role that requires not only technical leadership, but also strong interpersonal and relationship development skills, customer-facing experience, business insight, and personal drive.

The best NI-Emerson Field Application Engineers optimally balance their time between face-to-face technical interactions with target customers, technical activities, and providing insight and feedback as the voice of the customer. Field Application Engineers serve as highly trusted technical consultants, allowing them to influence the technical direction of target accounts and NI-Emerson to ensure mutual customer and NI-Emerson long-term success. They encourage NI-Emerson internal technical partners and customer engineers to action through leading and coordinating technical strategy and activities to achieve co-authored technical objectives for top accounts. They stay in tune with industry trends and the NI-Emerson technology roadmap to recommend approaches for customers' current and future technical needs.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Building key technical relationships at top accounts demonstrating great technical credibility growing customers technical confidence in NI-EmersonUnderstanding and assisting in creation of customer technical requirements.Provide recommendations on software architectures, hardware while helping understand the next steps to ensure successCollaborating with the NI-Emerson Account Manager(s) as part of an account team to lead development and execution of the account technical strategy providing insight to the overall account strategy and pipelineCoordinating efforts with internal technical partners to fulfill account technical initiatives and capture insights to improve account success.Apply knowledge of the industry, application area, and accounts to identify and address customers' future technical needs and challenges. This will help generate increased demand for NI-Emerson products, services, and support.This position is compensated by 80% base salary and 20% variable pay based on annual quota attainment.

For This Role, You Will Need:

BS degree or equivalent experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)5 years of proven experience3 years of programming experience2 years of experience in RF Fundamentals and MeasurementsUS (United States) Citizen / US PersonWilling and able to travel - Regional and Austin, TX, up to 25%Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Experience with LabVIEW, and TestStand, and the PXI platform, including developer certificationsEnglish Language Competency and effective oral and written communication skillsconfirmed experience in RF Fundamentals and Measurements, Software Engineering concepts, and Automated Measurement SystemsAdvanced skill in at least one of the following programming languages: LabVIEW, .NET, Python, C++, C#Advanced skill in FPGA development using VHDL or LabView FPGA2 years of experience in a customer-facing roleExperience supplying to organization, account, or engagement strategiesOur Offer To You:
