Are you interested in working on space hardware design? As a motivated mechanical engineer on this growing program you will lead the planning, design, development, and implementation of a space payload. You will make proactive recommendations and advise on system improvements. You will work together with clients and your teammates in a fast-paced environment creating mission-critical space systems! Join CACIs Space Development Team and be a part of a fast-paced, technical design team and tackle these challenges and more.**Responsibilities:****Implements strategic goals****Establishes operational plans for technical area****Develops and implements innovative products, processes, standards or operational plans achieved through research and integration of best practices that will have impact on the achievement of functional results of a project or system****Significantly improves on existing processes and practices****Lead Payload mechanical engineer, expected to architect and define/derive requirements for integration with the space vehicle****Design, develop, and deliver space rated mechanical designs for a an RF payload****Provide support to the systems engineering team across multiple phases of the engineering lifecycle to include technical planning, CONOP development, requirement analysis, system design, scheduling, system integration, verification and validation, training, cost and risk assessment****Assist with defining system & performance requirements for space payload applications****Support and author Test and Evaluation processes, such as TVAC testing, vibration qualification, regression testing, and more****Supporting major subsystem design reviews e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, and test reviews such as TRR/PSR****Youll Bring These Qualifications**BS degree in mechanical engineering (ABET/EAC Accredited).7+ Years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering and designIntermediate level experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Visio, and other CAD softwareAbility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearanceKnowledge of drafting/drawing standards (ANSI, DOD, MIL)Generate mechanical drawings for use in sheet metal and machining operations.Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of assemblies and products.Draws finished designs from sketches utilizing solid models and layouts.Thermal Modeling using SolidWorks Flow SimulationStatic and dynamic analysis using SolidWorks simulation toolsDesign and test products to MIL-STD-810 and NASA GEVS.Experience with TVAC and Vibe testing for space rated hardware applications.Design enclosures for PCBs and other electronic componentsKnowledge of ESD safe working environmentMust be mechanically inclinedInterpersonal skills required to work with other engineering disciplines and communicate effectivelyExceptional attention to detailHands-on fabrication and assembly experienceExperience with machine shop operations and manufacturing processAbility to work under pressure for quick-reaction projectsKnowledge of mechanical standards for materials & fastenersAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to conceive & propose solutions to complex mechanical design problemsMust be organized**These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:**Active Security ClearanceDesigning space-based payloads and assembliesDesigning RF and electronic enclosuresDesigning ground sites for satellite trackingCAD related CertificationsExperience with SolidWorks Add-Ins (Simulation, FloWorks, Routing, etc.)-______________________________________________________________________________**What You Can Expect:****A culture of integrity.**At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
