Job DescriptionApplies welding knowledge / experience, including but not limited to, GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, SMAW standards utilizing various metal alloys.Maintains welding training quality through welder process audits, additional instructions, and/or assessments on the production floor or field.Strong robotic welding background, equipment programming and troubleshooting.Supports and contributes to the Welding Engineering Team initiatives, such as: developing / qualifying new welding procedures to AWS and Military welding code requirements; welding vendor services reviews / assessments; welding technology research, development and application studies; welding processes prototype development.Provide technical interface with internal and external customers which include representatives from the Government, General Dynamics Land Systems Divisional office, and suppliers.Provide and manage product design interpretation, non-conformance dispositions, engineering changes, root cause analysis, and production problem reports.Perform product non-conformance evaluation and dispositions.Manage safe work practices and maintain safe work environment.Position Requirements:Bachelor degree in engineering field required.Possess or obtain AWS CWI certification within 6 months of job acceptance.5 years related experience, 7+ years preferred.US Citizenship required and must be 18 years of age.Must successfully complete background check and pre-employment medical process including a drug screen.Must be able to obtain/maintain DOD security clearance.Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid state-issued motor vehicle driver's license.Compliance with ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirements) may be required.Demonstration of proficiency in welding & fabrication of large heavy structure weldments utilizing various metal alloys.Demonstration of knowledge and skill level with JSMC welding processes - GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, SMAW.Able to perform problem solving and root cause analysis.Excellent written and presentation communications skills.Proficient with MS software required and parametric 3D software such as Creo or equivalent highly desired.Occasional travel required.As an Equal Opportunity Employer, General Dynamics Land Systems ("GDLS") provides all persons with equal opportunity and access to all aspects of employment process, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, marital status, age, disability, status as a protected veteran, or membership in any group protected by federal, state, or local anti-discrimination laws.
