Professional - ClinicalReq #: 443Summary:The Respiratory Therapist role performs diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems of patients to aid physicians/advanced practice practitioners in diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders. Assists with administering respiratory care modalities and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiovascular system, under supervision of the physician/advanced practice practitioner.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
1. Education: Graduate or active enrollment in an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy required.2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license or student actively pursuing license in Respiratory Care required. NBRC credentialing as a RRT required within one year of eligibility. Current BLS certification required. Current ACLS, PALS and NRP Certifications required or must obtain within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines.3. Experience: Minimum of one thousand clinical hours as a graduate therapist required.4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A5.
