ABOUT THE ROLE

The Financial Analyst II will report directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Mergers & Acquisitions and will be primarily responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analyses. The Financial Analyst II will also be assigned to various projects in an execution role that require collaboration with various departments (most notably Operations, Accounting, Fleet, and IT).Company OverviewWith roots dating to 1891 and 8,500+ employees, MYR Group is a publicly traded holding company of 13 specialty electrical construction companies. We are consistently recognized as one of the top five specialty electrical construction firms by Engineering News Record.Essential FunctionsMaintain current planning and analysis tools used by executive management to establish goals and measure performancePrepare reports in support of board meetings and quarterly senior leadership meetingsPerform routine and complex financial analyses and modeling to support strategic growth initiatives as assigned by the Director of FP&A/M&A or designeeAssist in the development of financial analysis and evaluation support for M&A activitiesAssist in the development of financial models forecasting future business resultsPrepare quarterly KPI Reports with narrative support for Executive Leadership TeamWork with Director of FP&A/M&A to develop stronger performance metrics and trendingPrepare ad-hoc analyses for Chief Financial Officer and Director of FP&A/M&A or designee as requestedResearch broader economic conditions and incorporate findings into financial modelsMay review the work of other employee(s)Regular and predictable attendanceOther duties as assignedEssential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field locationUnderstand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

ABOUT YOU

QualificationsMinimum 3 years of progressively-responsible experience in finance or related fieldCurrent progress towards, or desire to participate in the CFA Institute, Chartered Financial Analyst program or other relevant finance/accounting professional designationPreferred EducationBachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is requiredCFA, MBA or other relevant finance/accounting professional designation preferredKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysisStrong knowledge of financial markets and industry analysisStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailValuation and competitive analysis skillsAnalytical thinking skills and planning skillsDetail orientedDecision-making skillsAbility to develop professional documents and presentationsDemonstrated ability to gather and interpret data, prepare summarized reports, and communicate findings effectivelyAdvanced computer skills with expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, S&P Capital IQ, and database programsIntrinsically motivated individual with a desire to learn and expand one's knowledge of finance

WHAT WE OFFER

Compensation & BenefitsSalary $80,000-$95,000 / year

Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
