Position Summary:
You will be joining a team that is responsible for maintaining systems that make threat detection possible. We provide a service of interrelated activities, processes, and practices that seek to prevent, identify, minimize, or neutralize cyber threats to our organization.

What you'll do:
We maintain and support the SIEM and SOAR systems that make threat detection possible.
The Walmart SOC Engineering team provides the services necessary for enterprise-wide regulatory compliance monitoring, cybersecurity threat detection, and incident response.
Provide log collection capabilities in support of identifying "Bad" & "Evil" and meeting government or other mandated compliance collection & retention requirements.
What you'll bring:
A technologist who is informed on security industry trends, mature skillsets, architecture knowledge, and has a problem-solving mindset.
You have 6+ years’ experience in SIEM Engineering that involves building infrastructure, collecting logs, troubleshooting misconfigured systems, and parsing.
An individual who enjoys learning and building from experience to develop tools that will inhibit threat actors and their methods.
You are inquisitive with a passion for learning and have an understanding of various technologies.
An individual who has the ability to create scripts for various tasks.
You will need the mindset of a teacher, mentoring and developing more junior engineers.

Minimum Qualifications:Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 3 years’ experience in SIEM Engineering or related area at a technology, Retail, or data-driven company.Option 2: 5 years’ experience in SIEM Engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification in Security+, GISF, GSEC, CISSP, CCSP, or GCDA, Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or related area and 1 year’s experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects.
