Purpose of Position:

Directly lead and provide oversight for the work of the pet admissions team, ensuring compassionate and exceptional service experiences for our patrons and the pets coming into our care.

Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day work of the Pet Admissions team providing oversight, guidance and coaching

Identify, troubleshoot and elevate challenges to management

Utilize established SOPs to guide consistent and appropriate operating procedures and suggest changes when needed

Monitor data entry and documentation to ensure accurate records

Provide onboarding support and training to staff and volunteers new to the team

Provide input to managers regarding staff performance and process improvement

Provide daily animal relinquishment and stray intake services

Interview patrons to gather information to create animal records in Chameleon

Manage emotionally difficult situations with strong communication skills

Prepare and reconcile statements of daily financial transactions

Provide end-of-life care for animals at their owner’s request

Safely handle, restrain, and move animals and administer vaccinations and preventative medications

Ensure work materials and consumables are functional and well stocked

Maintain the League’s high standard of neat and clean facilities in assigned areas

Perform opening and/or closing duties as needed by the organization

Collaborate with other organization staff to address logistical issues

Perform euthanasia and related tasks as needed

Schedule:

5, 8 hour days. Weekend availability required.

Compensation:

$22.50-$23.65 (starting pay commensurate with market, experience, and equity).

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

Handle and restrain animals of various sizes, weights, and temperaments. Subject to animal bites or scratches. Work performed in high noise level areas. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander and bodily fluids. Physical efforts require constant bending, stooping, standing, climbing stairs, and walking. Frequent lifting of animals and objects with reasonable accommodation.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Desired

Supervisor or lead role experience

Customer service experience

Experience with developing and delivering staff training

Professional experience in animal welfare/working with animals

Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
