Description
SAIC is looking for a Business Development Director to provide business development and growth strategy in the areas of integrated solutions and enterprise/mission IT for US Navy and US Marine Corps in the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the defense sector, strong relationships within the INDOPACOM region, and a proven track record of securing high-value contracts. The Business Development Director will pro-actively create, shape, and help to win new contract opportunities leveraging tools and processes to analyze, develop and manage a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities in various stages of maturity. This position reports to SAIC’s Senior Vice President of Strategy and Growth for the Navy Business Group (NBG) and the location for this role is Hawaii/remote.
The Business Development Director will work as an integral part of growth teams that include Account VPs, capture directors, solution architects, subject matter experts and their peers across the enterprise of SAIC to identify and customize organic capabilities and partnering opportunities to deliver critical capabilities across the Navy’s and USMC’s Indo-Pacific Theater portfolio, including current on contract growth and future opportunities. The Business Development Director will set high pWIN conditions for successful opportunity management, and solution development through customer engagements and internal SAIC condition setting.
The successful candidate will:
Identify and pursue a pipeline of new business opportunities that includes opportunity qualification, input on initial pursue/no pursue decision, recommend teaming for specific opportunities, and support capture and proposal development/reviews.
Drive engagement plans with key stakeholders, including government officials, military leaders, and industry partners.
Leverage and expand current business development strategies to grow our presence in the INDOPACOM market.
Be clearly informed on Navy and USMC Pacific Theater market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in the INDOPACOM region; the ideal candidate has several years of Indo-Pacific Theater operational and/or technical experience with Naval/DoD programs of record.
Demonstrate extensive expertise in Navy and USMC C5ISR, Enterprise and Mission IT, Cyber Security, Information Warfare, and Intelligence operations, organizations, capability requirements, and corresponding solutions implementation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop proposals, respond to RFPs, and secure contracts.
Lead SAIC initiatives for industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
Must be a proven self-starter with a high degree of discipline and attention to detail. Be results driven, participating in all aspects of SAIC’s business development lifecycle that results in the award of programs.
Team Oriented. Work well in a highly productive, highly accountable, small team environment.
Demonstrated communications and interpersonal soft skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus eighteen (18) years or more of related experience; additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
A minimum five years of experience in working C5ISR portfolios, Enterprise and Mission IT, Intelligence and Information Warfare services and solutions.
A minimum five years experience developing and implementing capabilities/solutions for complex challenges within the Navy and USMC Enterprise.
A minimum of 3 years in industry.
Demonstrated ability to translate customer technical requirements into viable solutions leveraging SAIC and partner technologies and services.
Highly effective interpersonal skills working with technical leaders and business executives within SAIC, with Joint/Coalition/Navy/USMC customers, and with teammates and subcontractors.
CLEARANCE
U.S. Citizen with or able to obtain a Top Secret clearance (active TS clearance is highly desirable)
LOCATION PREFERENCE
Hawaii/Oahu
TRAVEL
Up to 25% travel
Target salary range:
$200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
