Sr Project Architect , you will work closely with Senior Designers and Project Managers developing non-routine and complex design concepts in a manner responsive to the client's needs and deadlines. Depending on project type and scope, you must be able to lead the development of technical documentation. The candidate will also have multiple opportunities for client interaction and will help our team maintain a commitment to design and quality for all types of projects.In this role you will:
Develop a thorough understanding of projects' design philosophy and provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy and effectively convey this to assigned team members when appropriate.Provide technical design input and support for the development of the entire design concept.Be responsible for a project's technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with Senior Designer.Participate in and lead component team meetings to support a collaborative Target Value Design (TVD) process with key project stakeholders including the Construction Manager, key subcontractors and internal team members.Seek creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develop appropriate research and documents to support these solutions.Actively collaborate with and coordinate work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated and support the design concept and performance goals of the project.Contribute to the preparation of design documents and lead the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation.Advance the production of schematic, design development, construction document drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost and design intent.Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems.Review shop drawings, material samples and CDs for conformance with design.Perform construction administration duties (e.g. RFIs, RFPs, change orders, etc.).Prepare reports and specifications; review completed reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations.Execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.).Establish architectural budget, task schedule and other components of the project work plan in collaboration with Project Manager.Implement meeting objectives, facilitate meetings and provide meeting notes documentation.Maintain contact with clients, consultants and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required.Set an example for team effort through the spirit of cooperation while directing, organizing and mentoring junior staff.You will need to have:
Bachelor's degree in architecture; Master's degree preferred.Architectural registration required.15+ years of experience including working on small- to large-scale project types.OSHPD experience required.LEED accreditation preferred.Strong graphics skills are essential.Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and other industry-accepted software as well as expertise with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite products is needed.Understanding of the healthcare industry, especially in areas of clinical innovation, operational improvement, planning and strategic positioning for complex hospital systems is needed.Experience with Lean and Evidence-based design a plus. Proficiency in Revit required; Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and other graphic tools desired as well as expertise with Project Manager software and Microsoft Office products is needed.Salary Information:
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $137,400 - $168,000
